Ostseestaal is able to handle sheet metal plates up to a size of 16,000 x 3,200 mm and a thickness of up to 100 mm.

Before the pre-cut, the sheet metal plates are firstly marked through water-resistant inkjet identification. Necessary marking lines are set at a later stage on the raw sheet metal by the plasma marker of the respective gas cutting machine.

The sheet metal plates are pre-cut on autogenous and plasma gas cutting machines. If possible, the sheet metal plates are pre-cut at the same time, that is, in parallel or inversely on the gas-cutting machines. That saves time and reduces costs.

Some forms of seam preparation are already processed with the cutting of the part contours. The machining of complicated edge forms as well as sheet thickness alignments, and sharpenings are carried out at separate work places (Secator®).
